St. Pete Beach has been awarded $5.3 million in state grant funding to support three major infrastructure projects aimed at improving public safety, utilities and transportation.

City officials said the funding will be used to help construct a new fire station, replace aging sewer infrastructure in the Pass-a-Grille neighborhood and continue the reconstruction of Boca Ciega Drive. The projects are part of the city’s ongoing efforts to upgrade critical infrastructure and address long-term community needs.

The new fire station is intended to enhance emergency response capabilities and replace the city’s existing facility. Officials say the upgraded station will better serve residents and visitors while supporting future public safety operations.

A portion of the grant funding will be used to repair and replace deteriorating sewer pipes in Pass-a-Grille. City leaders said the work is designed to reduce leaks, improve the reliability of the wastewater system and protect nearby waterways.

The remaining funds will support reconstruction work on Boca Ciega Drive, a project intended to improve roadway conditions, drainage, and overall transportation infrastructure in the area.

City officials said receiving the grants will allow the projects to move forward while reducing the financial burden on local taxpayers. Construction timelines for each project will depend on engineering, permitting, and project scheduling as work progresses.
