Florida is set to receive nearly $2 billion in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) reimbursement funding to support disaster recovery projects across the state, according to U.S. Senator Ashley Moody. The announcement is expected to be made during a news conference with leaders in Charlotte County.

The latest allocation follows a previous announcement in May, when Moody said more than $1.5 billion in FEMA reimbursement funding had been secured for Florida.

The funding is intended to reimburse state and local governments for disaster-related expenses, including infrastructure repairs, debris removal, emergency protective measures, and other recovery projects resulting from recent natural disasters. Previous FEMA reimbursements have supported hundreds of projects statewide, including repairs to roads, utilities, public facilities, beaches, seawalls, and wastewater systems.

Additional details, including how the nearly $2 billion will be distributed and which projects or communities will receive funding, are expected to be released during the announcement.
