Parking Just Got Pricier at Tampa International — Here’s What You’ll Pay

·

Travelers flying out of Tampa International Airport will soon pay more to park, as airport officials move to raise rates for the first time in more than three years.

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority Board approved the parking rate adjustment last week, with changes set to take effect August 4. The board voted to raise daily maximum rates at all three garages by $4 per day.

Under the new rates, the Short Term Garage will cost a maximum of $32 per 24 hours, while Long Term parking will rise to $26 per day and Economy parking to $22 per day.

All three garages will also simplify how hourly rates are calculated and will offer the first hour of parking free — including the Economy Garage, which currently offers only the first 15 minutes at no charge.

The last time the board approved a parking rate adjustment was in February 2023.

Airport officials framed the increase in the context of the airport’s national competitive standing. Tampa International is the 27th-largest airport in the United States by passenger volume but has some of the lowest parking rates among the nation’s top 30 airports, despite offering facilities such as Short- and Long-Term parking near the Main Terminal and an Economy Parking Garage served by an automated train.

Travelers who book in advance online at.com/Park will continue to pay lower rates and will be guaranteed a space upon arrival.
