Tampa Bay drivers heading southbound on I-275 from westbound Gandy Boulevard should plan for a detour tonight. The entrance ramp onto southbound I-275 from westbound Gandy Boulevard (SR-694) is scheduled to close at 11 p.m. Monday, May 19, and remain closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday, weather permitting, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

FDOT advises drivers to continue west on Gandy Boulevard past the closed ramp, make a U-turn at South Frontage Road/Grand Avenue, then head east on Gandy Boulevard back to the entrance ramp — staying right at the fork where the ramp splits toward northbound or southbound I-275.

Commuters are encouraged to check real-time traffic conditions before heading out and allow extra travel time during the closure window.
