Publix is expanding its popular deli sub lineup with a new brisket-focused menu available now at stores across the Southeast.

The Lakeland-based grocer announced three new brisket subs and one new brisket sandwich, all featuring smoked brisket sourced from a Texas supplier.

The three new subs are: the Spicy Brisket Sub, made with Boar’s Head 3-Pepper Colby Jack cheese, jalapeños, crispy fried onions, and Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce; the Brisket, Lettuce and Tomato Sub, a classic-style option with smoky brisket, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce; and the Southern Style Brisket Sub, stacked with smoked brisket, Publix cheddar, dill pickles, crispy fried onions, and Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce.

Also joining the lineup is the Stacked Brisket and Brioche sandwich — a half-pound of smoked brisket drizzled with Sweet & Spicy BBQ sauce on a brioche roll.

“As we looked for the next right protein to build on that legacy, brisket stood out,” said Publix Category Manager John Godke. “During product testing panels, a Texas-based supplier well known for its smokehouse delivered the quality and consistency we were looking for.”

The new offerings join one of Publix’s most iconic prepared foods, the Chicken Tender Pub Sub, which has been a deli staple since its 1992 debut. Publix operates more than 1,400 stores across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky.
