Tropical Depression Seven formed in the central Atlantic early Wednesday, according to the National Hurricane Center.
As of 5 a.m., the system was located near 13.7°N latitude and 45.0°W longitude. Maximum sustained winds were reported at 35 miles per hour, with the depression moving west at 13 miles per hour.
Forecasters expect the system to strengthen in the coming days and eventually turn toward the north. Current projections show it remaining well offshore of the eastern United States, with Bermuda as the only land area that may experience potential impacts.
Meteorologists said they will continue to monitor the storm’s track and intensity as it develops.
