Citrus County is applying for federal Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery funding to help repair damage from recent hurricanes and strengthen protections against future storms.
Residents can share their input through an online survey open until Sept. 15 at 5 p.m.
The grant program supports long-term storm recovery, infrastructure restoration, and storm mitigation projects, with no local match required. County officials have identified three priority projects for the application:
- Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation: Repairing deteriorated sewer lines, manholes, and pump stations to reduce stormwater intrusion and prevent overflows that could harm the environment.
- Ozello Trail Shoulder Repair: Stabilizing storm-damaged shoulders along Ozello Trail to improve safety and ensure reliable access for residents, visitors, and emergency vehicles.
- Industrial Park Road Resurfacing: Enhancing roadways and drainage in the Original Holder Industrial Park to support local businesses and attract new development.
Final funding decisions will be made by FloridaCommerce.
