Invest 95L has an increased likelihood of tropical development, but it poses no threat to Florida. The National Hurricane Center reports that this disturbance in the western Caribbean has a 50% chance of developing over the next two days and seven days. Regardless of development, Invest 95L is forecasted to move west, bringing heavy rain to parts of Central America and southern Mexico over the weekend.
Meanwhile, another system, Invest 94L, moving west over the Atlantic, has a lower chance of development at just 10% over the next seven days. Currently, this disturbance is causing disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the Leeward Islands and is expected to approach Puerto Rico and Hispaniola without turning toward the mainland U.S.
A cold front from the north, which has brought cooler temperatures to Tampa Bay, will continue to keep tropical threats away from Florida in the coming days.
