A major live music venue is coming to Tampa’s Ybor City neighborhood, with developers announcing plans for a 4,300-capacity concert hall as part of the growing Gasworx District.

Washington, D.C.-based real estate firm KETTLER announced the project, which will be operated by Live Nation and is scheduled to open in late 2028 on North 15th Street — steps from Ybor City’s 7th Avenue entertainment corridor and a future TECO Streetcar stop.

Developers say the mid-size venue is designed to fill a gap between small clubs and large arenas, offering a more intimate setting for touring artists. The venue has yet to be named.

The design will feature a vintage-style marquee lit with exposed bulbs, a brick façade, and a second-level balcony meant to echo Ybor City’s historic architecture, while the interior draws inspiration from classic theaters.

The venue is projected to generate $80 million in annual economic impact, support roughly 440 jobs, and contribute about $6 million in state and local tax revenue each year.

Gasworx is a joint venture between KETTLER, local developer Darryl Shaw, and international property company PPF Real Estate. The 50-acre mixed-use development is designed to connect Ybor City to downtown Tampa’s Channel District and, when complete, will include approximately 5,000 residences, more than 500,000 square feet of office space, and 120,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. A 28,000-square-foot marketplace is slated to open in 2027.
