The Tampa Bay Rays have announced the first in a series of public community engagement sessions to discuss plans for a proposed new ballpark and surrounding mixed-use district in Tampa.
The meetings are scheduled to begin March 3 at Hillsborough Community College’s Dale Mabry campus, with additional sessions planned for March 10 at Jefferson High School and March 11 at The Skills Center. Each session is set to run from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will include presentations from Rays leadership and college officials, an overview of evolving project concepts, and opportunities for public feedback.
The engagement efforts are part of a broader initiative by the Rays and Hillsborough College to gather input from residents, students, business owners, and civic leaders as they shape the design of a proposed ballpark and mixed-use development.
The project envisions redeveloping land near the college’s Dale Mabry campus into a ballpark-anchored district that could include residential, retail, and recreational components. It is tied to a recent state decision to transfer 22 acres of land to the college to advance stadium plans.
Team officials and college representatives say the sessions are intended to encourage community collaboration and help inform the final design of the proposal, which remains in the planning stages.
