The University of South Florida (USF) has climbed to its highest position ever in the U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” rankings, reaching No. 88 overall among all U.S. public and private universities, up from No. 91 last year.

Among public institutions alone, USF is now ranked No. 43, a two-spot improvement. Over the past decade, the university has moved up 40 places among public schools (from No. 83 to No. 43) and 71 places among all universities (from No. 159 to No. 88).

U.S. News also recognized USF for its value, ranking it No. 12 among public universities nationwide in that category. Additional rankings include:

  • No. 17 among public universities for social mobility
  • No. 19 for innovation
  • No. 42 for best colleges for veterans

USF’s president noted that the rise reflects growing academic quality, research strength, and student outcomes.
