Florida drivers are seeing some relief at the pump as gas prices fell 20 cents ahead of Labor Day, according to AAA.
As of Sunday, the statewide average was $2.93 per gallon.
“Gas prices are moving lower as the unofficial end of the summer travel season approaches,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “But there’s no guarantee the trend will last. For nearly a year, prices have typically dropped for about 10 days before rebounding by 10 to 20 cents. Even so, Labor Day prices should stay below last year’s levels.”
On Labor Day 2024, Floridians paid an average of $3.30 per gallon.
Locally, the average is $2.91 in Hillsborough County and $2.86 in Manatee County.
Statewide, the priciest gas is in West Palm Beach–Boca Raton at $3.08 per gallon, while the cheapest is in Crestview–Fort Walton Beach at $2.77.
