The Florida Department of Education has released the 2024–2025 school year grades, and just two Tampa Bay districts—Pinellas and Sarasota—earned an overall ‘A’ rating.
“This is another proud moment for Pinellas County Schools,” said Superintendent Kevin Hendrick. “Earning a district grade of an ‘A’ shows the strength and commitment of our students, teachers, and staff, along with strong support from the board, families, and the community.”
The latest data shows improvement statewide: 71% of Florida schools earned an “A” or “B” in 2025, up from 64% the previous year. In total, 28 districts received an ‘A’, 31 earned a ‘B’, and 8 received a ‘C’. No districts received a ‘D’ or ‘F’.
“These results show that Florida’s bold education reforms are working,” said Education Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr., citing strategies like progress monitoring and expanded school choice under Governor Ron DeSantis.
