The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Business Recovery Center in Clearwater will permanently close its doors at 2 p.m. today, Friday, April 25th, according to an announcement from Pinellas County on Thursday.
Located on 58th Street North, the center has provided support to business owners, homeowners, and renters applying for disaster loans. With its closure, those still in need of assistance are encouraged to visit the SBA’s Tampa location at the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, 2101 E. Palm Ave. The Tampa center operates Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Fridays until 3 p.m.
Applicants can also reach out to the SBA Customer Service Center by calling 800-659-2955 or by email. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, or have speech disabilities can connect via telecommunications relay services by dialing 711.
Important deadlines are approaching: the deadline to submit applications for property damage is Sunday, April 27. For economic injury loans related to Hurricane Helene, the deadline is June 30, and for Hurricane Milton, the deadline is July 11.
Pinellas County also noted that approved loan recipients have up to two years from the date of approval to request a loan increase of up to 20% of their verified damages, which can be used for mitigation improvements.
