Big changes are underway at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as the iconic 66-year-old theme park rolls out a $37 million investment aimed at revitalizing the guest experience.
A major highlight of the upgrade is the debut of Wild Oasis, an immersive rainforest-themed area designed with kids in mind. Opening this spring, it will replace the former Jungala section and feature vibrant new theming, including tropical bird-inspired costumes for staff.
Also under construction is a spacious new habitat for a colony of 20 meerkats, currently in quarantine as they prepare to move into their new home near the Edge of Africa.
For adult visitors, the park is adding a new bar right at the entrance, offering a fresh way to kick off the adventure.
Leading this exciting new chapter is Jeff Davis, the park’s newly appointed president. Davis joined the Busch Gardens team in February after serving as president of SeaWorld San Antonio.
“There have been presidents before me, and there will be presidents after me,” said Davis. “This is just my time to help the park grow and thrive. It’s an honor to be part of its legacy.”
