The decision to replace the roof at Tropicana Field, which was damaged last October during Hurricane Milton, has been postponed until next month.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, the City Council vote originally scheduled for this week has been rescheduled for April 3.
The roof repairs are estimated to cost $22.7 million, and council members are reportedly finalizing contract details.
The city remains committed to completing the project in time for the 2026 baseball season, as per contractual obligations. Officials have stated that the timeline remains on track.
In the meantime, the Tampa Bay Rays will hold their 2025 regular season games at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.
