Pinellas County has secured over $813 million in federal funding to aid long-term recovery efforts from recent hurricanes—and officials want your input on how to allocate the funds.
The funding, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will support recovery efforts following Hurricane Idalia (2023) and Hurricanes Helene and Milton (2024). It can be used to rebuild homes and businesses, restore infrastructure, provide rental assistance, and address other critical community needs.
HUD guidelines require that the funds be spent on unmet hurricane-related needs, with a focus on assisting low-to-moderate income households.
To gather public feedback, the county has launched an online survey and resource hub and will host a series of in-person and virtual meetings in April and May.
