This weekend, Treasure Island Beach will welcome visitors for a special event called “Back to the Beach: Sand & Kites & Coastal Delights,” organized in collaboration with Visit St. Pete-Clearwater.

The event sends a clear message: the beach is open again. It also provides an opportunity for local businesses to highlight their offerings and engage with guests.

While some parts of the beach are still healing from the recent hurricane season, recovery efforts continue. Certain hotels, such as Thunderbird Beach Resort, remain temporarily closed for reconstruction, but others, like Bilmar Beach Resort, are welcoming guests even as repairs are underway.

According to event organizers, this weekend is both a celebration and a signal to the public that Treasure Island Beach is ready for visitors. “They’ll attend the event and then explore our local businesses,” said Jason Beisel, the city’s public information officer. “Some restaurants are just reopening after months of closure, so this boosts them, supports their staff, and helps keep them going. It’s the same for our hotels.”

Attendees can look forward to live music, a kite show, and a sand sculpture that merges two of the area’s most beloved events into one fun-filled day.

The festivities kick off Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
