St. Petersburg’s 12th annual Localtopia festival on February 22 arrives at a crucial moment for local businesses recovering from recent hurricanes. The event will feature over 300 independent St. Pete businesses and organizations at Williams Park.
“This needs to be epic for many to stay in business,” says Olga Bof, Founder of Keep Saint Petersburg Local (KSPL). She notes businesses face multiple challenges: post-pandemic recovery, rising costs, slow summer sales, hurricane damage, and weak holiday season performance.
The festival runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring:
- Local food trucks and breweries (70+ vendors)
- Live music at Williams Park bandshell
- Family and wellness zones
- Artists and performers
Transportation options include free SunRunner rides and Star Trolley shuttle service from Tropicana Field ($10 parking).
Bof emphasizes this isn’t just a shopping event but a “community celebration” of St. Pete’s character. She urges year-round support of local businesses: “2025 is the year you really have to be extra mindful about where you’re spending your money.”
Event organizers request no pets due to crowds. Volunteers are needed for setup and beverage sales. More information can be found here: https://localtopia.keepsaintpetersburglocal.org/#get-involved
