Crews in St. Petersburg are currently working to repair a broken water pipe that has blocked the northbound lanes of 66th St. North.

Police report that an 8-inch pipe broke just north of the intersection of 66th St. North and Tyrone Blvd. shortly after 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

As a result, all northbound lanes of 66th St. North are closed between Tyrone Blvd. and 26th Ave. North. Police estimate that repairs and roadway restoration could take up to two days. Drivers are advised to find alternate routes until the work is complete.

City officials have assured that there are no interruptions to water service.
