MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has stepped into the conversation surrounding the upcoming vote on the new Tampa Bay Rays stadium.

As reported by the Tampa Bay Times, in partnership with Spectrum Bay News 9, Manfred convened with Pinellas County officials on Monday to address the postponed decision regarding the stadium’s financing.

County Commission Chairperson Kathleen Peters noted that Manfred expressed his support for the deal and the fans but did not provide any solutions for the financial aspects in question.

Notably, no representatives from the Rays were at this meeting.

Additionally, Manfred had a meeting with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis the previous week.

The Pinellas County Commission has scheduled a vote for December 17 to determine if they will approve $312 million in bonds for the new stadium’s construction.

Prior to this, the St. Pete City Council is set to discuss repairs for Tropicana Field at their meeting on Thursday.
