In a dramatic display of predatory prowess, an enormous alligator was recently captured on video dragging a massive Burmese python through Florida’s Everglades National Park. The remarkable encounter, documented in late November, showcased the alligator’s impressive size and hunting capabilities.
Experienced Everglades tour guide Kelly Alvarez described the alligator as one of the largest she has seen in the park, estimating its length at around 12 feet. The python, which appeared to be even more massive, was partially consumed and significantly longer than the alligator itself.

Alvarez noted that this python could potentially be the longest specimen ever discovered in the Everglades, challenging the current record of 19 feet. The video of the encounter left both tour guides and visitors in awe, providing a rare glimpse into the raw and unforgiving ecosystem of the Florida Everglades.
The scene dramatically illustrates the complex predator-prey dynamics that exist within this unique wilderness, where apex predators like alligators compete and sometimes prey upon invasive species like Burmese pythons.
