Hurricanes Helene and Milton not only damaged residential properties, the storms left hundreds without a place to stay. Families and individuals, still reeling from the widespread destruction, remain without basic necessities, including everyday household items and food. But nonprofits and volunteer organizations have stepped up to fill gaps and provide common items. Project Hope is one such example.
Free food will be available to those impacted by Helene and Milton, courtesy of Fluffy’s Mobile Hibachi, an authentic Japanese hibachit that expertly crafts delicious meals using the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. Meals will be made available at Calvary Episcopal Church at 1615 1st Street on Indian Rocks Beach, Wednesday December 4 and again Wednesday December 8.
Additionally, Saltwater Hippies will host Project Hope at 15042 Madeira Way, Madeira Beach, Wednesday November 20, as well as Thursday December 6 and December 13. Storm victims can also get free meals at North Redington Beach City Hall at 190 173rd Ave E. on November 21 and Wednesday, December 11.
Fusion Restort on Treasure Island will also host Project Hope on Wednesday November 2 and Thursday December 12 at 290 107th Ave.
Other sponsors include Uday Lele.com, the Rotary Club of Indian Rocks Beach, R.O.C. Park, the Gulf Beaches Rotarty Club, and Fluffy’s Mobile Hibachi.
The last event, Fluffy’s served over 100 meals to people in need and is ready to serve many more on future dates. For more information or to volunteer, contact David Bakelman at bakelman@gmail.com or 404-623-5415.
