Following the success of its ninth annual Belleair Bluffs Wine Walk, the Bluffs Business Association is now organizing a free concert to aid hurricane relief efforts on Indian Rocks Beach.
The Rising Tide Music Festival will take place on Sunday, Nov. 17, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Original Crabby Bill’s on Gulf Boulevard. The event will feature nine bands performing on a special stage set up in front of the restaurant.
BBA President Larry Bell explained that the idea for the event originated from discussions with Crabby Family Brands officials JT Corrales and Paul Jenkins. They saw it as an opportunity to celebrate the area’s beautiful beaches and acknowledge the impact recent storms have had on tourism.
Bell emphasized that the festival aims to create a positive, community-focused event where both locals and visitors can reconnect with the beach and each other.
While the Bluffs Wine Walk was designed to support local businesses, the Rising Tide Music Festival will highlight the area’s nonprofit organizations.
“The festival serves as a platform to highlight and support local nonprofits that are dedicated to serving our community,” Bell said. Participating nonprofits include Crabby’s for a Cause, the IRB Homeowners Association, the BBA, the Raising Relief Foundation, Indian Rocks Beach Action 2000, and the 50 Legs Foundation.
Each organization will have a presence at the event, sharing information about their work and how community members can contribute through donations or volunteering.
Nine bands, including Bell’s own Surfin’ Raccoons, are scheduled to perform on the outdoor stage over the course of 12 hours. Other bands include Alex Whalen, Jimmy Griswold, Jimmy Suvoy, Poly Essense, Fallout Matinee, and the Torpedoes.
Bell expressed gratitude to the festival sponsors—Belltech, the Original Crabby Bill’s Family Brands, A Cut Above Lawn Service, and Belleair Coins & Silver Queen—for making the event possible. He hopes that attendees will show up in large numbers to support the rebuilding of the community.
“With a day full of live music, great food, and the chance to connect with our community, we hope this festival will remind everyone of our resilience and the strength of our community,” Bell said.
“We encourage everyone to come out, enjoy a day at the beach, and support our local businesses and nonprofits.”
