Florida hurricane victims have until November 14 to apply for Operation Blue Roof, the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) has announced. The program assists property owners affected by recent hurricanes by installing temporary protective roofing at no cost.

Eligible properties include owner-occupied homes and permanent rental properties damaged by recent storms. The program provides industrial-strength, fiber-reinforced sheeting to protect damaged roofs until permanent repairs can be made. As of November 7, over 5,900 roofs have received temporary protection through the program.

To apply for assistance, residents can:

  • Call 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258)
  • Visit the program’s website to submit an application
  • Visit a Right of Entry (ROE) collection center to complete an ROE form in person
