After the unfortunate cancellation of Clearwater Jazz Fest due to Hurricanes Helene and Milton, jazz fans can still enjoy an incredible weekend of live music at the Suncoast Jazz Festival on Sand Key. Running from November 22 to 24, the festival will take place at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort, featuring performances by acclaimed local, national, and international jazz artists.

“Our hearts go out to all those impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton,” said Joan Dragon, Director of the Suncoast Jazz Festival. “We’re thrilled to bring jazz fans together again, celebrating the comfort of live music with an incredible lineup on three stages over three days and nights.”

Attendees can expect a diverse array of styles, including New Orleans-inspired early jazz, the American Songbook, modern acoustic jazz, swing, Brazilian, blues, rockabilly, and gospel. The lineup features trombone master Wycliffe Gordon, New Orleans vibraphonist Jason Marsalis, Grammy-nominated guitarist Diego Figueiredo, the New Black Eagle Jazz Band, Wally’s Warehouse Waifs, and more. Festival regulars like Adrian Cunningham and Dave Bennett return, along with favorites like Davy Jones and the Suncoast Seven, and The St. Louis Stompers Classic Jazz Band.

Local talent will shine with performances by trumpet star James Suggs, jazz trio La Lucha, celebrated guitarist Nate Najar, Bryan J. Hughes, the Al Downing All Stars, and other notable musicians. Talented female vocalists Daniela Soledade, Synia Carroll, Theo Valentin, and Pepper and Fine Thyme will add to the vibrant entertainment lineup.

Youth jazz bands and student master classes, led by Wycliffe Gordon, will also be featured, continuing the festival’s commitment to jazz education.

Event festivities kick off Friday at 11 a.m. with a New Orleans-style Parasol Parade by the pool, and a Swing Dance Party starts at 6 p.m. Live music will continue until midnight each day.

Tickets range from $40 (evening admission) to $275 for a full three-day pass. For more information and tickets, visit www.suncoastjazzfestival.com, email jazzclassic@aol.com, or call 727-248-9441.
