This Saturday, a stretch of St. Petersburg’s Beach Drive NE will transform into a hub of community support as six local businesses host a Hurricane Relief Block Party. The event, running from 4 to 8 p.m. on the 300 block, aims to raise funds for those affected by recent hurricanes in the Tampa Bay area.

Visitors can enjoy live music, artist demonstrations, and special discounts from participating establishments: Allelo Mediterranean Restaurant, SHAPIRO’S Gallery, Parkshore Grill, Paciugo Gelato & Caffe, Style Clothing, and EnnYe African Boutique.

Allelo Mediterranean Restaurant is spearheading fundraising efforts with a special tasting event. Priced at $75 per person (with optional wine pairings for an additional $55), the restaurant will donate half of all proceeds from this culinary experience. “Small local businesses are the soul of St. Pete,” says Allelo’s general manager Michelle Richards. “This event celebrates our community’s resilience while supporting those affected by the hurricanes.”

Proceeds will benefit three organizations: the Southern Smoke Foundation, which provides crisis support for food and beverage workers; Feeding Tampa Bay, which has intensified its food distribution efforts post-hurricanes; and the We Are St. Pete Fund, a newly launched initiative by the Pinellas Community Foundation and City of St. Petersburg.

The We Are St. Pete Fund has gained significant momentum, with Mayor Ken Welch announcing it has raised nearly $829,000 since its creation following Hurricane Helene. The fund, approaching the $1 million mark, will distribute aid through the Pinellas Community Foundation to support residents, small businesses, and city employees impacted by both Hurricanes Helene and Milton. Those interested in attending Allelo’s tasting dinner must make reservations in advance through OpenTable’s experiences platform.
