Two Florida haunted attractions have been ranked among the nation’s best by USA Today readers, just in time for Halloween thrills. For those eager to celebrate with a terrifying experience, the Sunshine State offers two top-rated options.

USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2024 recognized Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail in Plant City and the 13th Floor Haunted House in Jacksonville as two of the best-haunted sites in the U.S. Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail earned fifth place, while the 13th Floor was named ninth.

Open through Nov. 2, Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail has been frightening visitors for a decade. This immersive attraction features three haunted trails, a haunted hayride, and various horror-themed games like laser tag and axe throwing. Known as I4 Fear Park, Sir Henry’s has attracted film crews, including WWE and Black Dog Filmz, to its eerie grounds.

In northern Florida, the 13th-floor Haunted House sits on the Arlington Expressway in Jacksonville. Attractions include Clown Alley, the Nightwalkers, and Lycans Curse, each creating uniquely terrifying scenes. Organizers caution that it “may be too intense” for children under 12. The haunted house, part of 13th Floor’s Fright Club, remains open until Nov. 9. USA Today praised both attractions:

  • Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail (#5)
“This outdoor experience offers hand-built, interactive horror with roaming scare actors, themed escape games, and food from local vendors.”
  • 13th Floor Haunted House (#9)
“Designed to be truly terrifying, 13th Floor features professional-grade sets, animatronics, strobe lights, and immersive scares that keep adrenaline high.”

Whether in Plant City or Jacksonville, Florida’s haunted attractions promise plenty of frights this Halloween season.
