Publix at Bardmoor Promenade is set to undergo a makeover in 2025, after nearly five years of delays. Originally, the store located at 10801 Starkey Road, Suite 200, in Seminole, was supposed to receive a refresh back in the first few months of 2020, but extenuating circumstances caused headquarters in Lakeland to push back its initial plans and now, work is scheduled to begin early next year.

Refurbishment plans include a slight floorplan change, relocating customer service from its present location to the front, outside the cart room, in a circular booth as a centerpiece, just like the two other Publix stores at Pinellas Crossings and Park Boulevard and 113th Street. Additionally, self-checkout lanes will be added and the entire location will get a fresh coat of paint, some new signage, and other aesthetic improvements.

Store hours will not change as all work will be completed overnight after daily closings, so shoppers will be able to visit the location as usual. Work is expected to take a few weeks to complete, but could stretch out a little longer if unforeseen circumstances arise.

Future Plans

Currently, the Publix store located at the intersection of 66th Street and 38th Avenue is undergoing a complete rebuild. Construction crews are demolishing the entire building and it will be replaced by a brand-new structure. Presently, there is no firm reopening date for this location, but it could take up to a year to complete.

Right now, there are over 1,400 Publix stores in eight states across the southeast (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky, North and South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia), with several more scheduled to be added in the future.
