The Tampa Bay Lightning’s newly expanded ownership team, led by Doug Ostrover and Marc Lipschultz, has committed $1 million to support recovery efforts for families impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The donation, which will go to five local nonprofits, is earmarked for essentials like housing, food, clothing, and other resources.

“This is a challenging time for so many families across Tampa Bay,” Ostrover shared. “We’re honored to stand alongside those affected and inspired by the strength and solidarity of this community.” Lipschultz echoed his commitment, adding, “The resilience shown by the Tampa Bay community has moved us, and we’re proud to join Jeff Vinik, the Lightning Foundation, and the entire organization in these efforts.”

Staying #TampaBayStrong

Ostrover and Lipschultz joined the Lightning’s ownership team on October 24 and are actively collaborating with Vinik and the Lightning Foundation on philanthropic initiatives. Vinik Sports Group CEO Steve Griggs noted, “With the support of our new ownership team, this $1 million will go directly to local organizations on the frontlines of relief. Together, we’re committed to #TampaBayStrong and to aiding in our community’s recovery.”

The contribution will support Metropolitan Ministries, Feeding Tampa Bay, University Area CDC, Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services, and St. Pete Free Clinic. This donation is part of the Lightning’s larger $4 million hurricane relief initiative, which includes $2 million from Jeff Vinik and a $1 million #TampaBayStrong effort by the Lightning Foundation.
