This weekend in St. Pete, learning isn’t just fun—it’s free, hands-on, and taking local children on an exciting exploration of knowledge. Shorecrest Preparatory School is hosting its annual St. Pete STEAMfest this Saturday, October 26, from 10 am to 2 pm on its campus at 5101 1st Street Northeast. Free registration is available here.

This community-wide event is a “celebration of all things creative, inventive, imaginative and fun,” inviting children from age 3 through 8th grade to experience an interactive festival. Participation is completely free, allowing kids to dive into hands-on activities across 35+ booths centered around STEAM education.

The beloved annual event integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math, transforming the Shorecrest grounds into an educational wonderland for a full day of exploration and fun. Most of the event takes place outdoors, but children ages 2-8 can also engage in STEAM activities with Shorecrest teachers in their classrooms.

What to Expect at STEAMfest

While attendance is free, those who can are encouraged to bring non-perishable goods to donate to Reach St. Pete, supporting locals in need. A list of needed items can be found here.

Additionally, there will be giveaways for the first 200 attendees. Guests are encouraged to bring water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, and any other supplies needed for an afternoon outdoors in sunny St. Pete. Refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Shorecrest, a preschool-12th grade independent school ranked #1 for STEM by Niche.com, has hosted the event since its inception in 2016.

“We are so proud to welcome the community for STEAMfest this year,” says Dr. Anna Baralt, Shorecrest Director of Educational Technology and STEAMfest Committee Chair. “STEAMfest is a celebration of the kind of engaging, student-centered learning we do every day at Shorecrest. We love the opportunity to partner with local educational organizations and share these enriching experiences with children from the greater Tampa Bay Area community.”
