Hurricanes Helene and Milton’s significant impact on the Tampa Bay area has caused storm debris removal to be a major challenge that will likely persist for months.

Prior to Milton’s approach to the Gulf coast, crews made considerable efforts to clear debris left by Helene. Governor Ron DeSantis reported substantial progress in these cleanup operations.

As of Monday, October 14, Pinellas County has resumed collecting residential storm debris from both hurricanes in unincorporated areas.

The county offers a dashboard to track pickup locations and crew progress here: https://pinellas-egis.maps.arcgis.com/apps/dashboards/cc0cb850528c4b1b8ee669ec79feb341. Residents can also find a list of debris drop-off sites throughout the county on the Pinellas government website here: https://pinellas.gov/emergency-information-3/sand-and-debris-cleanup/
