Starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Pinellas County Utilities will limit potable water service on the barrier islands. Customers should expect very low water pressure from that point onward.

This restriction, as per a county notice, poses a safety risk for residents in Belleair Beach, Belleair Shore, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Shores, Redington Beach, Madeira Beach, John’s Pass, Treasure Island, Pass-a-Grille, St. Pete Beach, South Pasadena, Tierra Verde, and Fort De Soto.

To protect critical infrastructure and reduce strain on water and wastewater systems, potable water—safe drinking water—is being restricted. Substations are still undergoing repairs following damages from Hurricane Helene.

Additionally, this will impact water service to fire lines, meaning fire rescue crews won’t have quick access to hydrants in emergencies.

If you haven’t evacuated yet, please do so immediately.
The County will continue to provide updates on potable water and sewer services before, during, and after the storm via email and text alerts. For questions, call the Customer Service line at (727) 464-4000. See the official update on the City of Clearwater’s Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/R6ofxfunvy1rPYrs/
