Beginning today, residents affected by recent storms can access a centralized “insurance village” to streamline their insurance claim processes, hosted by the Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of Consumer Services.
The Florida Division of Consumer Services has coordinated with over 40 insurance providers to offer on-site support at this temporary facility. Its primary goal is to accelerate claim filings and provide immediate assistance to those impacted.
Located at the Long Center (1501 North Belcher Road), the hub will operate from October 4th to 6th, 9 AM to 5 PM daily.
State CFO Jimmy Patronis emphasized the hub’s efficiency: “Insurance carriers present can issue immediate stabilization checks for initiated claims.”
Residents planning to visit should come prepared with:
- Valid identification (driver’s license, passport, or state ID)
- Insurance policy documents and cards
- Visual evidence of storm damage (photos or videos)
- Any obtained repair estimates
- Additional relevant insurance documentation
While primarily serving Pinellas County, the hub also welcomes affected residents from neighboring Hillsborough County.
